Precision Forming Root-Cutting Milling Cutter Head for Small-Module Gears

一种新型铣齿刀具,仅用一款刀片实现小模数齿轮的精铣成型、挖根、留磨。
1、从生产成本来讲,刀片采用四转位、一体化设计,相比于分体式机构刀片整盘刀片的数量更少,装卸时间更短,且因为是精铣成形设计,留磨量最小可控制在单边0.1mm;减少后续磨齿加工时间、降低修整砂轮的频率、减少砂轮的消耗,进而提高磨齿效率,降低了齿加工的综合成本。
2、从设计理念来讲,传统的滚齿留磨或是铣齿留磨齿根与渐开线连接处都为大的钝角,而此款刀片的渐开线与齿根挖根圆角为圆滑过渡,大大减少了根部的应力集中,进而增强了齿轮强度。


A new type of milling gear cutter that achieves precision forming, root cutting, and grinding allowance for small-module gears using a single insert.
1. From a production cost perspective, the insert adopts a four-edge, integrated design. Compared to split-structure inserts, it requires fewer inserts per cutter head and reduces installation and removal time. Additionally, due to its precision milling forming design, the grinding allowance can be minimized and controlled to 0.1 mm per side. This reduces subsequent gear grinding time, lowers the frequency of dressing the grinding wheel, and decreases grinding wheel consumption, thereby improving grinding efficiency and reducing the overall cost of gear manufacturing.
2. From a design perspective, traditional hobbing or milling cutters leave a large blunt angle at the junction between the gear root and the involute curve. In contrast, this cutter features a smooth arc transition between the involute and the root fillet, significantly reducing stress concentration at the root and thereby enhancing the gear’s strength.
